Hall Bend Trail

I decided this morning that we needed to get out and explore and be in the beautiful fall colors before they are all down on the ground. The weather was perfect and after two failed attempts of new places to hike (one was just campgrounds/boat ramp and the other had no apparent public access), we came upon this place. It doesn't look promising at first, with just this paved water overflow area of sorts and a long stretch of grass, but then it turned into a wooded point on the lake and it was beautiful!
The kids were determined to find pirate treasures while we were out there and discovered this old branch. They decided they could use it as the mast of the pirate ship they would build and began to carry it back to the truck.Jackson would not give up on carrying it and persistently lugged it all the way back. View from Kate's world.Self-portrait.This is a new-ish thing for me, taking a picture of the trail sign so I can go back and easily remember where we were. It's particularly nice in instances like this, since this is just a random area of TVA property that isn't detailed anywhere online. So glad we went exploring today and found it!
