Welcome, Jackson Eli!

Jackson Eli was born Wednesday morning! He weighed 8 pounds 2 ounces and was 21 inches tall. His due date wasn't until the 19th, so his arrival was slightly unexpected, but we were certainly glad to welcome him early! It all happened so quickly-- I (Karen) woke Jamie up at 3 am to let him know that he should get ready to go, we arrived at the hospital at 4:10 (luckily we only had to slow down for one red light), and he was born at 4:44am. There are no pictures from right after the delivery because the camera was still out in the car, which was still in the unloading zone at the front door. Our friend Cathy also got an early wake up call that morning! She came to our house to watch Kate while we went to the hospital. They were the first ones to come visit new little Jackson.Kate is excited about her new little brother!
Jamie's parentsKaren's parentsKaren with Jamie's brother Andy and JacksonWe were discharged from the hospital on Thursday morning and made it home in time for lunch. Here's Jackson all ready for his first ride in the car. He slept the whole way.Kate really likes Jackson. She likes to point out and name all the features on his face-- eyes, nose, mouth. They are almost 18 months apart so we hope the closeness in age will transfer over to a good friendship. Here's Kate taking a peak at Jack while he's sleeping. And giving him a hug. Pointing out his nose. Two days old.
We're all doing great and are enjoying time as a new family. Jackson is a great sleeper so far, so he's making life quite easy. And what a blessing we have with wonderful people around us that are making sure we're taken care of. More pictures to come soon!
